As the Chief Executive Officer, John Williams plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of ATLAS Space Operations. His extensive and diverse industry knowledge is instrumental in driving company growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring exceptional service to clients across the space industry. Prior to joining ATLAS, John served as the Vice President of Real-Time Earth at Viasat, where he spearheaded the development of the Ground-Station-as-a-Service business line.
With a steadfast commitment to innovation and a forward-thinking vision, Williams has effectively held leadership positions at other renowned organizations, including Booz Allen Hamilton, ATK Space Systems, and Universal Space Network (now SSC). John also had a diverse 21-year United States Air Force career as an officer, encompassing various roles in operations, acquisition, budgeting, strategic planning, and command. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Science and Computer Science from Texas A&M University and earned his Master’s degree in Science and Space Operations from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology.
